MNI BRIEF: EU States Back Tariffs On China EV Imports

Commission-proposed tariffs on China-made electric vehicle imports has won the backing of EU states

MNI (BRUSSELS) - European member states backed a European Commission proposal for additional tariffs on China-made electric vehicle imports in a vote today on Friday, the Commission said.

The EU and China would "continue to work hard to explore an alternative solution," the Commission said, adding that any such solution must be WTO-compatible and address the injury done to EU industries by China's subsidisation of its EV sector.
