MNI BRIEF: Fed's Bullard Says Open To Intermeeting Moves Later

(MNI)

St. Louis Fed President James Bullard said the central bank should not rule out intermeeting policy moves in order to stay nimble in its effort to clamp down on high inflation.

“We have met outside of normal channels before, that should be something we should think about,” Bullard told reporters in a briefing. “But I don’t think anything is imminent on that. I would leave it up to the chair, and it’s very much his prerogative, as to whether he wants to organize our time in that manner.”
