MNI BRIEF: Foreign Firms Content In China

MNI (Beijing)

Foreign firms are content with China's business environment, according to a survey conducted by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), which reported 90% respondents were satisfied in seven out of 10 indicators.

Wang Linjie, spokesperson for the CCPIT, told reporters Friday the council’s Q2 business survey found 40% of international firms view China's market as increasingly attractive, with almost half expecting profit margins to rise in the next five years. Wang added 15% were also planning to increase capital investment in China this year.

Beijing’s reliance on German-made equipment will lower trade friction with Berlin, a leading trade delegate recently told MNI, noting China’s improved H2 economic outlook had driven increased optimism among member firms. (See MNI INTERVIEW: Chinese Demand Boosting German H2 Optimism)
