MNI BRIEF: France Inflation Hits Multi-Year High

French HICP rose to an annual rate of 2.7% in September, the highest level since the final month of 2011, from 2.4% in August. CPI rose less dramatically, to 2.1% from 1.9% in August, the fastest pace of growth since October of 2018. Both measures declined by 0.2% between August and September.

Producer prices rose by 1.0% in August, taking the annual rate to 10.0%, also a multi-decade high.
