Brazil's central bank deputy governor for monetary policy Gabriel Galipolo was approved by Congress on Tuesday to replace Roberto Campos Neto as governor next year. In the plenary session, 66 senators voted in favor of his appointment, and 5 against it.

Earlier, during a hearing with senators from the Economic Affairs Committee, he advocated for a more prudent monetary policy amid risks such as unanchored expectations and stronger-than-expected economic activity.
