Year-end inflation seen more than double CBRT target by Turkish households, monthly study finds

Turkish household inflation expectations were unchanged from May, according to June’s TEBA annual and year-end inflation expectations survey, remaining significantly higher than data collected by the Central Bank of Turkey, which last week held rates at 50%.

Year-end inflation expectations were 93%, the study conducted by Koc University economists found, with inflation seen at 97% a year later. The CBRT reported last week that households see inflation at 71.5% in 12 months’ time, against a target of 38%.
