MNI BRIEF: Kuroda: Cannot Judge If Nikkei Overheated

BOJ

Bank of Japan Governor Haruhiko Kuroda said on Tuesday that he doesn't judge whether the Nikkei stock index is overheated or not. "Stock prices are basically determined based on the outlook for economy and corporate profits," Kuroda told lawmakers. Kuroda also said that he has no plan to abandon the BOJ's purchases of ETFs (exchange traded-funds) now, which is a part of the easy monetary policy aimed at achieving the 2% price target. He added that the BOJ board will consider unwinding easy policy, including ETF holdings, in an appropriate manner if the price target is achieved - on MNI MainWire and email now, for more details please contact sales@marketnews.com.
