MNI BRIEF: March Manufacturing Inflation At Record High: CBI

Expected manufacturing prices over the next three months rose to a weighted balance of +80% in March, up from +77% in February, according to the CBI Industrial Trends survey released on Tuesday. That’s the highest in a series dating back to 1975.

Order books were also strong, rising to a level of +26% from +20% in February. Exports orders increased to +7% -- highest since March of 2019 — from -7% a month earlier. Stocks of finished goods were “inadequate” in March, but shortages improved over February, with the balance rising to -8% to -14%.
