MNI BRIEF: Mexican Inflation Rises To 4.76% In September

MNI (BRASILIA) - Mexico's INPC annual inflation was 4.76% in October, the Mexican National Institute of Statistics and Geography said on Thursday, announcing a figure in line with the 4.74% consensus forecast and up from 4.58% in September.

Core inflation was 3.80%, below the 3.85% consensus and down from 3.91% in September, continuing its downward trajectory.

"Within the non-core index, on a monthly basis, prices of agricultural products increased by 1.73%, while energy prices and government-authorized rates rose by 1.23%. This was largely due to the end of the summer electricity rate subsidy program in 18 cities across the country where the CPI is tracked," INEGI said.
