MNI BRIEF: NDRC Holds Gas And Diesel Prices Steady

MNI (Beijing)

Prices of gasoline and diesel will be held steady in China’s domestic market despite recent international oil market volatility, the National Development and Reform Commission said on Monday.

The state economic planner noted recent changes in international oil prices did not justify changing domestic levels according to the refined oil price mechanism and petroleum price management rules.

China’s demand for crude oil imports will increase marginally in 2024 from this year’s 11 million bpd as economic growth firms and the government adds infrastructure stimulus, but this poses little significant upside risk to world oil prices, a leading China energy expert recently told MNI.
