The Bank of Japan said Monday that the new BOJ Governor Kazuo Ueda and two Deputy Governors Shinichi Uchida and Ryozo Himino will hold a joint press conference at 1915 JST (1015 GMT).

The government officially appointed Ueda on April 7, while Uchida and Himino were confirmed March 20.

Ueda, a former BOJ board member, is the first BOJ chief from academia in postwar Japan. During the confirmation hearings, he said the BOJ’s current policy was appropriate and the Bank must maintain eased policy.

However, Ueda indicated the need to mitigate the side-effects of yield curve control policy without elaborating.
