MNI BRIEF: NY Fed Index Shows Continued Global Supply Easing

(MNI) WASHINGTON

Global supply chain pressures declined in July, continuing the easing observed over the past two months, and with a uniform decrease across most subcomponents, according to the most recent reading from the New York Fed's global supply chain pressure index.

The moves in the Fed's index from the beginning of 2022 suggest that although global supply chain pressures have been decreasing, they remain at historically elevated levels.

Economists at the ECB have also found evidence of easing supply chain pressures which have fed surging inflation.
