MNI BRIEF: Shanghai Aims To Resume Production From May-End

Shanghai plans to resume company operations and resume cross-district public traffic at a gradual pace from the end of May, city officials said on Thursday at a daily press conference.

Some companies will impose close-loop operations by the end of May to allow a small part of workers to back to the office, and from the first half of June, the resumption will be expanded, deputy-mayor Zhang Wei said. At present, only some companies have met the strict anti-Covid-19 requirements, and the authorities are actively making efforts to help small and medium-sized companies to get ready for re-opening, he said.
