MNI DATA BRIEF: U.S. Jobless Claims Fall To Recovery Low

(MNI) WASHINGTON
WASHINGTON (MNI)

First-time claims for U.S. unemployment insurance fall by 20,000 to 385,000 in the latest week, the Bureau of Labour Statistics said Thursday, the lowest level since the start of the pandemic and one that points to a gradually-improving labor market.

MNI reported this week a high and rising number of long-term jobless could benefit from a recent labor shortage as choosy employers are force to consider a wider pool of workers.
