MNI BRIEF: Xi & Blinken Talks “Candid And In Depth”

MNI (Beijing)

Chinese President Xi Jinping met with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Monday, according to a statement released by the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), with Xi describing talks between Blinken and China's foreign minister Wang Yi as “candid and in depth”, with both sides agreeing to follow through the common understanding reached by both heads of state during their previous Bali meeting.

The talks come as signs of a thaw in relations are emerging, with the US choosing not to name China a currency manipulator in a report last week. (SEE: MNI:US Treasury- No Big Partners Manipulate FX, China On Watch - Bonds & Currency News | Market News)
