The Chicago Business Barometer™ Survey asked firms in June when they were planning to make their next (major) capital investments for growth.
- Only 16.7% of respondents look to make a major investment this year (12.5% now, 4.2% in H2).
- Responses were then broadly split between the other categories of either next year (29.2%), next two years (25.0%) or unknown (29.2%).
- Some respondents noted that finding skilled operators was still an issue while others noted that they need to see an increase in the demand forecast.
