MNI DATA BRIEF: UK June House Prices Rise by Most Since 2004

UK House price surged by an annual rate of 13.2% in June, accelerating from the 9.8% increase in May, the highest rate since November of 2004, the Office for National Statistics said Wednesday. That takes the average price of a UK home to a record-high £266,000.

Prices rose by an annual rate of 18.6% in the northwest, the fastest pace in UK, while London continued to lag, with prices rising 2.5% between May and June and 6.3% over the same period of last year.
