MNI DATA BRIEF: UK May-July Pay Awards Steady At 2% - XpertHR

The UK median basic pay award steadied at 2% in the three months to July, unchanged from the second quarter. However, 52% of award were higher than in the same period a year earlier while just 25% were lower and 21% unchanged. In the same period of 2020, 61% of awards were lower.

In the 12 months to July, the median award across industry hit 1.5%., matching the outturn for the private sector over the same period. Public sector pay awards hit 2.0%, down from 2.5% "for the past couple of years," according to Xpert.
