MNI DATA IMPACT: ISM Non-manufacturing PMI At 2-Month High

--October ISM Non-manufacturing PMI Up 2.1 Points At 54.7

     LONDON (MNI) - The ISM Non-manufacturing PMI edged higher in October
following September's decline, data released Tuesday showed.
     The main points of note from the release include:
     - After plummeting to the lowest level since August 2016 in September, the
ISM Non-manufacturing index rose 2.1 points to 54.7, surpassing market
expectations projecting a rise to 53.4.
     - All the main four indicators saw a monthly increase with Employment (up
3.3pt to 53.7) seeing the largest m/m gain, followed by New Orders (up 1.9pt to
55.6), Business Activity (up 1.8pt to 57.0) and Supplier Deliveries (up 1.5pt to
52.5).
     - However, all remaining indices registered a monthly decrease, with Order
Backlogs (-5.5pt to 48.5) seeing the sharpest decline, while Prices (-3.4pt to
56.6), Inventories (-2.5pt to 50.5), Exports (-2pt to 50), Inventory Sentiment
(--1pt to 57) and Imports (-0.5pt to 48.5) fell at a softer pace.
     - The Order Backlogs and the Imports indicator are the only components
registering below the 50-mark, with the former hitting the lowest level since
December 2016 and the latter dropping to an eight-month low.
