MNI Global Morning Briefing: Flash PMIs Monday's Highlight

Global flash PMI data will be the main focus for the European and U.S. sessions Monday, from the French data at 0815BST to US data at 1445BST.

Eurozone Flash PMI data seen modestly lower

French German and eurozone-wide data are all expected to see lower flash PMI outcomes in August, pushed lower as the delta variant spreads. The services sectors are expected to see the worst of the slowdown as face-to-face industries see some hesitancy from consumers. The composite eueozone PMI is expeccted to fall to 59.6 from 60.2 in July.

UK PMIs expected lower across the board

The UK flash PMIs are also expected tp slip across the board, with the manufacturing sector seen dipping to 59.5 from a final reading of 60.4 in July. The final readings are due on Sept 1st and 3rd.

Eurozone consumer confidence to slip

The European Commission's latest consumer confidence data is expected to edge lower in August, with analysts expecting to slip to _4.9 from -4.4 in July. Added concerns from the delta variant are weighing on sentiment, despite the pick-up in the Europe-wide vaccination program.
