MNI: PBOC Net Injects CNY200 Billion via OMOs

The People's Bank of China (PBOC) injected CNY250 billion via 7-day reverse repos and CNY50 billion via 14-day reverse repos with the rates unchanged on Tuesday. This resulted in a net injection of CNY200 billion given the maturity of CNY100 billion of reverse repos, according to Wind Information.

  • The operations aim to keep the liquidity reasonable and ample, the PBOC said on its website.
  • The 7-day weighted average interbank repo rate for depository institutions (DR007) fell to 2.2048% at 09:24 am local time from the close of 2.2651% on Monday: Wind Information.
  • The CFETS-NEX money-market sentiment index closed at 35 on Monday vs 32 on Friday. A higher index indicates increased market expectations for tighter liquidity.
