MNI BRIEF: Eurozone To Reverse 30% Of Fiscal Slippage In '21

(MNI) LONDON

An average of around 30% of the eurozone's budgetary deterioration projected in 2020 is expected to be reversed in 2021, according to a paper published by European Central Bank.

Fiscal deficits would remain above 3% of GDP in 13 euro area member states in 2022, based on the assumption of a continuation of current policy, the paper said , with just five euro area countries - Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg and Malta - expected to keep debt ratios below the Maastricht reference level of 60%.
