  • Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will deliver a virtual address to Senators today as Democrats attempts to force movement on President Biden’s USD$106 billion national security supplemental request – the cornerstone of Biden’s foreign policy agenda.
  • Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) has teed up a procedural vote on the national security package, likely to take place on Wednesday, which will almost certainly be blocked by Republicans with critical US-Mexico border reforms stalled in the Senate negotiating room.
  • House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) is expected to release a topline spending number for FY24 appropriations bills in the coming days. The number will give an indication of the risk attached to a government shutdown in January.
  • The House Judiciary, Ways and Means, and Oversight committees have released a joint report on the status of a House Republican probe into alleged corruption from President Biden and members of his family.

  • Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen will travel to Mexico today for a three-day trip designed to strengthen cooperation on narcotics and boost bilateral trade.
