FOREX: -MNI reports that the ECB are considering a fresh wave of TLTROs in order
to counter any sustained economic slowdown knocked EUR/USD ahead of the close,
preventing bulls from gaining confidence from a close above 1.14. The report
suggested that discussions may take place in December on whether a third round
of TLTROs is required.
-USD gained against most others as markets took stock on the recent dollar
decline, with today's payrolls release helped lift the greenback further. The US
added 250,000 jobs in October, bucking concerns that Hurricane Michael would
dent jobs growth. Friday's move spared the USD from being once of the worst
performers of the week.
-GBP trimmed sharp gains this week, prompting GBP/USD to dip back below 1.30,
but the AUD and NZD were the best performers, with hopes rising of a climbdown
in US-China trade tensions alongside the November G20 Summit.
-Central banks take centre stage in the coming week, with BoJ minutes and rate
decisions from the Fed, the RBA and the RBNZ.
