MNI: U.S. factory orders fell by -10.3% for the month of March, a deeper drop
than the -8.7% decline expected by markets. This is the largest m/m drop ever
recorded and the last biggest drop since August 2014 when factory orders fell by
-9.7%. This drop followed a -0.1% decrease in February. New order for durable
goods fell by -14.7% in March, down from the previously reported -14.4% drop.
March shipments for durable goods fell by -4.7%, down from the prior report of
-4.5% decrease and following a +0.8% increase in February. Nondefense aircraft
and parts saw a -296.2% drop in March with transportation equipment overall
seeing a -41.3% decline.
