Consumer discretionary names and healthcare firms are sectors in focus for the coming week. Key releases include Amazon, Alphabet and PayPal. Ford Motors' release could also draw some interest. Tuesday is – comfortably – the busiest session for the S&P 500.
Earnings season continues to fare well vs. expectations, with most firms beating forecast for both EPS and revenues. So far, the financials and energy sectors are the strongest sectors, beating forecast on EPS by an average of 23% and 16% respectively. Consumer discretionary and utilities, however, are missing on sales forecasts.
