IRELAND
IRELAND: Moody's changes outlook on Ireland's banking system to stable from
positive "as the country's banks consolidate their balance sheets and capital
positions, and continue with a gradual clean-up of problem loans, helped by
positive but slower economic growth." Its new report, "Banking System Outlook --
Ireland: Continued GDP growth, more gradual reduction in asset risk drive stable
outlook" is on www.moodys.com; report does not constitute a rating action.
- "Our stable outlook for Ireland's banking system balances the country's
improving operating environment and steady asset risk and funding conditions
against a more challenging picture for profitability and efficiency," said
Irakli Pipia, a Moody's Vice President -- Senior Credit Officer and the report's
co-author.
