US: Mortgage Bankers Association releases survey showing pace of mortgage loan
forbearance requests continued to slow in the third week of May, while share of
loans in forbearance increased. Highlights:
* Share of total mortgage loans in forbearance increased to 8.36%, from 8.16%.
Survey covers period from May 11 - May 17. 
* 4.2 million U.S. homeowners now in forbearance plans. 
* Ginnie Mae had largest overall share of loans in forbearance by investor type
(rose to 11.60% from 11.26%). Loans in forbearance for depository servicers rose
to 9.13% from 8.99%, and forbearance for independent mortgage bank servicers
rose to 8.11% from 7.85%. 
* Forbearance requests as % of servicing portfolio volume dropped across all
investor types for fifth consecutive week: to 0.28% from 0.32%.
