NATGAS: US Cooling Demand Seen 18 CDD Above Normal This Week

US cooling demand for the week ending Sep. 28 is forecast to be 18 cooling degree days (CDD) above the long-term normal, according to Bloomberg, citing the NOAA.

  • The regions with the largest deviation from the normal are the W S Central, 33 CDD above average, E S Central, 32 CDD above average, and Mountain, 30 CDD below average.
  • In terms of states with the greatest deviations, Georgia is forecast to be 46 CDD above average, followed by Nevada at +41 CDD above normal and Arizona at +41 CDD above average.
  • This week’s total forecast for CDD is 44, compared to a normal of 26 and stable on the actual figure of 44 from last week.
  • During the week to Sep. 21, the US was 11 CDD above normal.
