NBP Hawks Give Interviews, Ruling Party Prepares To Announce More Campaign Pledges

  • NBP's Joanna Tyrowicz speaks with TOK FM radio and her colleague Ludwik Kotecki gives an interview to money.pl/wp.pl this morning. Both are hawkish dissenters in the Monetary Policy Council. The focus will be on any comments on the implications of fiscal proposals unveiled by the ruling party and the opposition for monetary policy.
  • Onet reports that the ruling Law and Justice are preparing to announce more campaign pledges in the coming months. According to the news website, these may include a tourist voucher scheme for families, an extension to mortgage payment vacations, as well as new tax breaks for businesses, farmers and large families.
  • EUR/PLN bounced off fresh two-year lows yesterday and returned above the PLN4.5 mark. PAP newswire cited a local player noting that the move was likely linked to profit-taking rather than any reversal in the broader downtrend.
