NBP's Kotecki Says Rates Shouldn't Be Changed at Nov Meeting

The NBP should not change interest rates at its November meeting and instead wait for the new government to be formed and announce its plans, Dziennik Gazeta Prawna newspaper cites MPC member Ludwik Kotecki as saying.

  • “November should be a month when the Council should simply wait. Also wait - this is perhaps even one of the most important things - for the new government to emerge and announce what it will do in the coming quarters, in 2024.”
  • "The next meeting is at the beginning of December and maybe then there will be another chance for some further discussion. For now, it looks like the economy is doing poorly, very poorly."
