Net Norwegian-UK Power Flows at Yearly High in May

Average net Norwegian-UK power flows have reached a yearly high so far in May, climbing by around 70% on the month as hydro and onshore wind output in Norway has remained strong, according to data from Entso-E.

  • Average net Norwegian-UK power flows have averaged around 1.4GW so far in May, up from 829MW in March and 1.17GW in April- the previous yearly high.
  • Norwegian hydro output has remained firm in May from April averaging 14.2GW compared to 15.2GW in April.
  • Norwegian onshore wind output also only slightly fell on the month, averaging 1.11GW in May compared to 1.58GW in April.
