The office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has issued a statement following a call with US President Joe Biden to discuss Hamas' response to a US-backed Gaza ceasefire-for-hostage deal.
- Statement: "Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke on the phone with President Biden and informed him of his decision to send a delegation to continue negotiations for the release of the hostages and reiterated the principles to which Israel is committed, chief among them Israel's commitment to ending the war only after all of its goals have been achieved, Israeli PM office said." - Times of Israel notes: "It was not immediately clear where the next round of talks will be held. Previous meetings have been hosted in Doha and Cairo, and recent low-level meetings have taken place in Doha."
- Analysts report discord between Netanyahu and his negotiating team, who stressed that the new Hamas offer represented positive progress towards a ceasefire deal.
