Netanyahu: Pace, Intensity Of Attacks On Gaza To Increase

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says in a clip posted online that "We will increase the pace and intensity of the attacks [in Gaza] - Hamas will receive blows that it did not expect."

• Comes as Hamas has launched over 250 rockets into Israel, sparking retaliatory air strikes by the Israeli Defense Forces.
• So far estimates have the death toll at 24 Palestinians and two Israelis.
• The uptick in violence, the worst seen in many years in Gaza and Jerusalem, comes amidst an increasingly fraught political landscape in Israel, with no single party or political camp (either pro- or anti-Netanyahu) able to put together a working majority gov't.
• This raises the prospect of Israel having to conduct its fifth general election in two-and-a-half years should no group be able to cobble together a working majority.
