US NATGAS: New England Gas Prices Falling
US NATGAS
New England gas prices are trending down today, with a drop in demand on the day, according to EIA and NGI pricing.
- Algonquin Citygate is down $2.50/MMBtu on the day to $16.00/MMBtu, the EIA said citing SPMI data. NGI has it down $2.575/MMBtu.
- Tennessee Zone 5 200L is down $5.38/MMBtu, NGI said.
- Demand into New England is at 3.94 bcf/d, down around 0.17 bcf/d on the day, the EIA said. Bloomberg has end user demand slightly higher at 3.99, comprised of 28% power demand, 60% residential and commercial demand, and 12% industrial demand.
- Regarding power demand, gas being used for electricity generation is down slightly on the day to 291,978 MWh, 57% of total generation.
- Total consumption is higher on a seasonal basis than the same period in 2023& 2024, but remains within the 5-year range.
- Regional pipeline utilisation is at 75%, the EIA said. Bloomberg has total pipeline inflows at 3.56 bcf/d, down from 3.92 bcf/d the previous day.
