New Poll Shows Likelihood Of Hung Parliament Increasing

FRANCE

A new poll has projected a likely hung parliament in the French parliamentary elections to take place on Sunday June 12.

  • The poll shows the Ensemble coalition of French President Emmanuel Macron securing 250-290 seats in parliamentary elections; a high likelihood of failing to achieve the required 289 seats for an absolute majority.
  • Today's poll is the first to suggest that Macron's centrist coalition may fail to secure a majority.
  • Politico wrote yesterday: 'While the new left electoral alliance NUPES is doing well in national voting intention polls, seat projections still expect Macron's camp to win a majority.'
