FOREX: News feeds were rather quiet overnight, with China & South Korea closed
for Lunar New Year holidays and Singapore & HK working half-day. AUD was the
underperformer among the G10, weighed on by a soft domestic building approvals
print, which slipped by 8.4% M/M against exp. of a 2.0% increase. The Aussie's
recovery was then capped by broader yuan weakness, with USD/CNH breaking cleanly
above its 200-DMA at CNH6.7578. 
- CAD outperformed, as WTI held Friday's gains, while USD edged higher, with DXY
adding 8 pips. 
- JPY struggled for clear direction, while the Nikkei 225 operated in the green.
- Focus today turns to UK construction PMI, Italian CPI & U.S. durable goods,
while central bank rhetoric will be provided by ECB's Mersch & Costa. The
Australian Royal Commission's report on the conduct of major Australian banks &
Alphabet's earnings report will also provide some interest.
