FOREX: Night before Christmas leaves market horizontal
-Unsurprisingly, there's very little to write about early Tuesday, with early
closures in the US and Europe draining markets and keeping traders away from
their desks. As such, currency, equity and fixed income prices are broadly
unchanged. There's been no material data releases this morning, with yesterday's
US durable goods and Canadian GDP numbers the last real numbers of note before
the Christmas break.
-There have been a handful of headlines crossing following a trilateral summit
between China, Japan and South Korea, with the three countries expressing
concern over North Korea's missile development plans, but there were few new
details from the three leaders.
-Richmond Fed manufacturing index is the sole calendar event Tuesday, before
markets close early. Expect thinner liquidity as markets begin to shut for the
holidays.
