No Resumption of Lukoil Flows to Hungary or Slovakia

Russia’s Lukoil has not resumed oil transit to Hungary or Slovakia according to Russian officials speaking with Reuters on Tuesday.

  • The countries said earlier this month they had stopped receiving oil from Lukoil after Ukraine had enforced tougher sanctions.
  • Russia’s Lukoil has added around 140,000 metric tons of crude to its original Novorossiisk loading plan for July following Ukraine’s Druzhba transfer blockage according to Reuters sources on Monday.
  • Hungary and Slovakia have asked the European Commission to mediate a consultation procedure with Ukraine, Hungary's foreign minister said on Monday.
  • The two countries have initiated a consultation with the European Commission, he said, adding the Commission had three days to respond before pushing for legal proceedings.
