No US LNG Transits to North Asia for a Second Week: BNEF 

  • Four US liquefied natural gas cargoes transited via key routes over Feb. 3-9, one more than a week earlier.
  • This is the second straight week in which no US LNG transited to North Asia. Two tankers traversed the Suez Canal, likely to make deliveries to Egypt. The other two sailed around the Cape of Good Hope, with India their declared destination.
  • Global LNG imports reached 8.7 million metric tons, up 18% w/w. Total supply shrank 8% to 7.9 million tons.
