Norwegian Hydro Stocks Widened Deficit to 5-Year Average to 2023 High

Norwegian hydropower reserves fell by 3.2 percentage points last week to 67% of capacity as of 12 December, widening the deficit to the five-year average to the highest level so far this year, NVE data showed.

  • Stocks widened the deficit to the five-year average to 6.32 points, compared with 5.74 points a week earlier.
  • Norwegian hydro output declined last week. Output from reservoirs fell by 1.2GW to 16.51GW last week. Onshore wind output rise by 563MW to 1.975GW, Entso-E data showed.
