NSA Sullivan: Biden Will Rally Likeminded Nations To Speak Against Russia

White House National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan has previewed President Biden's upcoming trip to Egypt, Cambodia, and Indonesia for meetings with COP27, ASEAN, East Asia Leaders, and the G-20.

• Sullivan says that Biden's focus at the G20 will be on "energy security and the clean energy transition, food security, debt relief, multilateral development bank reform, and the launch of a pandemic preparedness fund."
• Sullivan says, "[Biden] will also rally likeminded nations to speak out forcefully against Russia's illegal war in Ukraine which has exacerbated many of these challenges."
• On a bilateral meeting between Biden and President Xi Jinping of China: "This is the first time they will meet face-to-face. President Biden has made it a priority to keep lines of communication between the two countries open, in order to manage competition."
• Sullivan confirms that President Biden will also hold bilateral and trilateral meetings with Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol in Phnom Penh, Cambodia on the margins of the East Asia leaders' summit.
• Sullivan says that he expects Biden will also hold bilats with UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.
