Number Of Americans Who Believe Country "On Wrong Track" Highest Since 2013

US

The number of Americans who believe the country is "on the wrong track" has recorded its highest level (71%) since October 2013, according to the Real Clear Politics tracker.

  • In 2013 that number reached 75% due to a partial federal government shutdown.
  • The approval rating of President Joe Biden dropped below 40% for the first time this week as inflation continues to drag on the administration.
  • The White House has embarked on a pivot to the economy this week to rescue public opinion. The White House believes that better communication can convince the electorate that inflation is a condition affecting most developed economies rather than symptomatic of poor government policy.
