Norway’s NVE recommends that Statnett be granted a license to build a new 420kV power cable between Skaidi and Lebesby in Finnmark, Norway, it said. 

  • The new power line would improve the security of supply and will be needed to meet the expected increase in power demand.
  • There is currently a smaller 132kV power line between Skaidi and Lebesby.
  • The request for the line was first submitted in December 2020.
