NY Gov To Close NYC Indoor Dining If Hospitalisation Rates Don't Stabilise

US

Governor of New York Andrew Cuomo tweets: "If after 5 days a region's hospital rate has not stabilized, indoor dining will close or be reduced. -In NYC, indoor dining would close entirely. -In rest of the state, indoor dining would be reduced to 25% capacity."

  • Under these rules it is seen as likely that indoor dining will be banned in New York City as of Monday 14 December, with hospitalisation rates not expected to stabilise by then.
  • Stricter COVID-19 restrictions in New York coming in as California enters a period of strict stay-at-home orders for around 85% of the state's population. The restrictions are due to run for at least three weeks.
