NZD Lower On Broader USD Strength, AUDNZD off Lows

NZD is weaker against the USD during the Asian session on Tuesday, it has been trending lower all morning after retesting the 0.6150 levels. NZD is the worst performer of G10 currencies in on Tuesday, while the BBDXY trades 0.11% higher.

  • NZDUSD opened at the highs of the session retesting the overnight highs and recent initial resistance of 0.6150, the pair has pushed lower on USD strength and currently trades at towards daily lows oat 0.6133, reversing most of the gains most yesterday, a break of Tuesdays lows of 0.6120 could open up a larger move lower to 0.6100. Currently the 20 and 50-day EMAs sit at 0.6120/0.6135.
  • AUDNZD is off its low of 1.0625, following the RBA minutes currently trading at 1.0638.
  • Looking ahead later tonight, the US will have the Leading Index data out, while on Wednesday NZ 4Q PPI is expected, AU WBC leading index plus Wage Index data is due.
