NZD Shorts Feel The Pain

FOREX

The greenback has unwound most of the brief, limited move lower that was seen in early Asia dealing, although the NZD remains the marginal outperformer amongst G10 after Wednesday's short squeeze, with AUD/NZD flows seemingly supporting the kiwi during Asia-Pac hours thus far. USD/JPY has also retraced to Y106.00, after contacts flagged supply from U.S. based accounts in the early part of the Asia-Pac session.

  • CAD the marginal underperformer, with the NY/Asia crossover seeing BoC Senior Deputy Governor Wilkins noting that a policy allowing an inflation overshoot vs. target is one worth considering.
  • Little of note on the regional Asia-Pac docket today, with focus on Fed Chair Powell's Thursday address.
