KIWI: NZD/USD added 14 pips and sits at $0.6844, as kiwi garnered some modest
strength on the back of a Xinhua report, which noted that top U.S. and Chinese
officials discussed the next steps in bilateral trade negotiations over the
phone.
- This came after the rate added a handful of pips, as Brexit optimism aided
broader risk appetite, only to erase these modest gains on the back of
disappointing Aussie data releases from across the Tasman.
- On the technical front, a familiar picture remains in play. Bulls target
$0.6853, where the rate peaked on Feb 28, followed by the upper 1.0% 10-DMA
envelope at $0.6875. On the downside, the initial target is provided by the
21-DMA at $0.6824. Below here opens the 50-DMA at $0.6805.
- This week's NZ docket is headlined by BusinessNZ m'fing PMI, due Friday.
