KIWI
KIWI: NZD/USD last deals at $0.6509, virtually unchanged on the day, ahead of
the release of NZ retail sales, due in 15 minutes' time.
- The rate touched a new YtD low of $0.6501 yesterday, as the RBA's shift to an
easing bias damaged AUD, which spilled over into the kiwi. Recovery attempts
held shallow, with declines in GDT price index & whole milk powder prices at
Tuesday's GDT auction applying some weight to the parir late doors.
- Bears look to the $0.6500 level, which limited Tuesday's losses. Below here
would open the lower 1.0% 10-DMA envelope at $0.6484, followed by the Oct 26
2018 low of $0.6465. Bulls target the downtrend resistance/Tuesday's peak,
located at $0.6541/43.
- NZ trade balance comes out on Friday.
