KIWI: NZD/USD last seen at $0.6812, 5 pips higher on the day. Kiwi managed to
marginally outperform its G10 peers, as a strong domestic building permits
print, which hit in the NY/Asia crossover, buoyed the currency. The release of a
better than exp. Chinese Caixin m'fing PMI also provided some modest support,
even with the print remaining in contractionary territory.
- Initial bullish attention is drawn to $0.6829, which represents the 21-DMA. A
breach of the level would give bulls the green light for targeting yesterday's
peak at $0.6853. On the downside, the initial target is provided by the
50-DMA/55-DMA at $0.6794/93, ahead of the lower 1.0 10-DMA envelope at $0.6779.
- NZ focus next week turns to NZ Q4 manufacturing data due Friday.
